The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has unanimously voted for the tenth time to declare April Armenian History Month.

The initiative, put forward by prominent American politicians Kathryn Barger and Janice Hahn, marks the 111th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

The resolution underscores the importance of remembrance and recognition of the tragic events of 1915, when approximately 1.5 million Armenians were killed.

Every year on April 24, the county holds commemorative events aimed at preserving historical memory and promoting human rights values, while also honoring the significant contribution of the Armenian diaspora to the region’s development.
