In recent days, demonstrations have continued in Los Angeles, following immigration raids targeting undocumented immigrants for deportation. Protests have also erupted in other cities, including Washington and New York, with reports of detainees. Alpha News spoke with Los Angeles City Council member Adrin Nazarian on this matter.

“Everything that’s on the news is happening in downtown Los Angeles; other parts of the city remain calm. When the raids began, dozens of young people became more active and took to the streets, thus showing that they disagree with the situation,” he said.

According to him, the city has suffered significant financial losses, but, fortunately, there have been no human casualties.

“There will be financial challenges as many buildings and surrounding areas have been damaged. Walls will need to be cleaned and repainted,” Nazarian added.

Shops were also looted these days, but, according to him, the number does not exceed ten.
