On the fourth day of their election campaign, members of the Armenia bloc visited the village of Dprabak in the Gegharkunik region, where they spoke with residents and learned about the difficulties they face. During the conversation, Robert Kocharyan, Armenia’s second president, stressed the importance of the military’s role and noted that soldiers’ salaries were raised regularly during his time in office.
“I always made sure that military salaries were at least 25% higher than those of police officers and other security service personnel,” Kocharyan said.
He noted that the current authorities follow a different policy on this matter.
“Special forces soldiers in particular receive higher salaries than regular police officers or military personnel,” he concluded.
