Sergey Naryshkin, Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation, has commented on the results of the elections in Armenia, noting that “in a certain sense they are questionable.”

According to him, Armenia’s leadership would be making a mistake if it were to orient itself exclusively toward assistance and support from the West.

In that case, Yerevan risks facing barriers to its economic development and a worsening of the situation within the country, Naryshkin stressed.

He also expressed hope that Armenia’s leadership “will act wisely.”
