The authorities’ drive to exclude the Strong Armenia party from the electoral race indicates that a decision was made from the outset to participate in the elections with separate lists and blocs. Beniamin Matevosyan, political analyst, stated this on air at Alpha News.
“Even if Pashinyan manages to exclude the Strong Armenia party from the elections, the other leading political forces will still take part in the electoral race,” he noted.
Commenting on the TV debate among the leaders of political forces participating in the parliamentary elections, Beniamin Matevosyan said that Nikol Pashinyan failed to emerge victorious from the debate.
“It should be emphasized that seven pro-Azerbaijani forces took part in the debate, all in one way or another involved in promoting the authorities’ agenda. Yet even with the support of his seven or eight backers, Pashinyan did not come out of the discussion as the winner,” the political analyst said.
