Pashinyan’s visit to Moscow could take place soon: Peskov

A visit by Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, to Russia could take place in the near future, though exact dates have not yet been set, Dmitry Peskov, the Russian presidential press secretary, told RIA Novosti.

“Quite soon. There are no exact dates yet,” he said.

Peskov specified that the Armenian prime minister’s visit would take place this year.

Last week, Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, held talks with Pashinyan on the sidelines of the SCO summit in Bishkek. During the meeting, the two leaders discussed the need to hold a referendum in Armenia to settle the question of the country’s membership in the EAEU or its accession to the European Union. Following the talks, Putin said he had invited the Armenian prime minister to Moscow to discuss specific issues of cooperation between the two countries.
