Pension increase is pre-election voter bribery: residents of Charentsavan

The pension increase has not produced any meaningful result, as pensions were already inadequate before. This opinion was expressed by one of the residents of Charentsavan, commenting on the topic of pension increases in Armenia.
“The pension barely covers a quarter of a person’s daily food. I am among those receiving a higher pension, but if it weren’t for my children, I would go hungry. A few months ago Pashinyan was saying: if we raise pensions, what will that give a pensioner? That’s right, it gave nothing substantial, he simply used it to try to bribe some pensioners,” noted another survey respondent, recalling Nikol Pashinyan’s December statement that “why give a pensioner 10,000 drams if they don’t know how to spend money effectively.”
According to yet another survey respondent, Pashinyan is mocking pensioners.
“Why didn’t he raise pensions before the elections, and only remembered it when the campaign started? We all know this is a formality and voter bribery,” the resident stressed.
