As part of “The People Speak” project, Alpha News conducted surveys in Yerevan and Armenian-populated communities in the United States and Russia to gather citizens’ opinions on the most pressing issues of recent years.
“He is our shame, our disgrace. I am certain he will not receive votes in the next elections. He makes us lower our heads before other nations,” said one survey participant.
“We are to blame for everything because we kept silent. This is the result of our inaction,” the citizen said, referring to the Armenian authorities’ stance on challenging the recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
“We live in a country where there are no protective measures, no gas shelters are built. How can we be satisfied with such a system?” remarked another survey participant.
Citizens also expressed dissatisfaction with security conditions in Armenia.
“We don’t even know the conditions our soldiers serve in, but they are the ones who ensure our security,” noted participants in the Alpha News survey.
