Speaking with Alpha News, David Mnatsakanyan, the founder of the Up For Armenia NGO, commented on Nikol Pashinyan’s visit to the United States.

On February 3, Pashinyan and his wife left for the United States, where they attended the 5th International Religious Freedom Summit and the National Prayer Breakfast. Pashinyan also met with US Vice President JD Vance.

“Nikol Pashinyan was rumored to try meeting with US officials. Several meetings were held, but with difficulty. It is important that the meeting with the Armenian community be more serious and open to the public, but I know that it was closed and by invitation only. I have connections in Washington, but the people who attended the meeting were unfamiliar to me.
I have lived in Washington for many years, but I did not recognize anyone present at the meeting. Perhaps these people were brought from different communities,” he noted.

According to him, if money from the state budget is spent on an official visit, it should bring some result for the country.

“The photo of Nikol Pashinyan and the US Vice President is not as important to me as the discussions that took place, as well as the impact and effectiveness of the money allocated to our country. Especially now, when our country is in a very dangerous situation, the borders are currently unstable, there is a real danger, and it is wrong to just come and meet. The public should know the nature of this meeting and what the parties discussed,” David Mnatsakanyan emphasized.
