Polls in the Tavush region revealed public discontent and distrust toward the socio-economic situation. One participant, commenting on discussions about corruption, criticized the current government, stressing that the real picture will only become clear after a change of power.

“Everything will become clear once this government is gone. Then we’ll see how much they stole and how much the previous ones stole. Right now, under their rule, nothing can be exposed, but as soon as they leave, it will become clear who stole more, them or the previous ones,” he said.

Tavush residents also criticized the policy of raising pensions ahead of elections, calling it “legalized robbery.”

“They raised our pension by 10,000 drams, while they themselves earn millions. On top of that, it turns out that the 10–20% bonus we’re supposed to get for card payments doesn’t apply to utility bills. So what are we supposed to do?” another survey participant said.

Another pensioner added that against the backdrop of prices rising tenfold, this increase looks like nothing more than mockery.
