Mesrop Manukyan, member of the National Assembly from the Armenia bloc, noted at a press conference that it will soon be 19 days since the arrest of Robert Kocharyan, first President of the Republic of Artsakh and second President of the Republic of Armenia.

“I want to inform our society that Robert Kocharyan was detained not for corruption, not for embezzlement of state funds, not for October 27 and not for March 1, but for performing his official duties. In other words, the president of the republic was obligated by his office to ratify the government’s decisions, and he had no other choice,” the lawmaker said, adding that this entire process is exclusively political in nature.

According to Manukyan, throughout Kocharyan’s years in office, there was not a single government decision that he did not ratify.
