Robert Kocharyan has never engaged in entrepreneurship: lawyer

Robert Kocharyan, second President of Armenia, has never engaged in entrepreneurship, neither in the past nor now. Throughout his life, he has been engaged in public service. During the Soviet years, he held fairly high government posts; after that, he was President of Artsakh, a member of the Liberation Committee, Prime Minister of Armenia, and President of Armenia. This was stated by Aram Orbelyan, lawyer, at a press conference on the case of the second President of the RA, speaking about Kocharyan’s alleged links to business activity.

According to the lawyer, after leaving the presidency, Kocharyan worked for some time in highly paid executive positions, including as a director and member of a board of directors, before returning to political activity.

“Robert Kocharyan has no direct or indirect connection, except that his son, daughter, or another son may have some relation to certain enterprises. He himself has no connection to these enterprises whatsoever,” Orbelyan said.
