Rosselkhoznadzor asks Iran to suspend certification of flowers for supplies to Russia due to similarity with Armenian products

Rosselkhoznadzor has appealed to Iran’s Plant Protection Organization with a request to suspend certification of flowers for supplies to Russia, the agency reported.
The agency noted that in 2026, the volume of supplies from Iran significantly exceeded the figures for the same period in 2025. “The phytosanitary certificates list Iran as the country of origin. However, based on the external characteristics of the products and packaging features, they are identical to those previously imported from Armenia,” Rosselkhoznadzor added.
It is clarified that the agency had previously informed Iran of the temporary restrictions in effect on Armenian flower products. “Due to the absence of a response from the Iranian side, and in order to preserve the phytosanitary well-being of the territories of Russia and the EAEU member states, and to ensure compliance with the bans and restrictions imposed by Rosselkhoznadzor, the Service appealed to the Plant Protection Organization of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Islamic Republic of Iran with a request to suspend certification of local flower products until bilateral negotiations are held and the matter is clarified,” Rosselkhoznadzor explained.
