Rudik Makarian secures third place in Asian Blitz Championship in UAE

Armenian chess player IM Rudik Makarian from Moscow became the bronze medalist of the Asian Men’s Blitz Championship, which was held on May 10 in Al Ain, UAE.

Makarian earned 7 out of 9 possible points and, based on additional tiebreak indicators, surpassed three competitors from India and China.

The tournament champion was 14-year-old Russian grandmaster Ivan Zemlyanskii, who scored 8 out of 9 possible points. Iranian Sina Movahed placed second.
