Political analyst Bogdan Bezpalko commented to Alpha News on why the Kremlin is in no hurry to congratulate Nikol Pashinyan on his election victory.

“In Russia, the primary concern is ensuring that all election results are fully, accurately, and calmly accounted for, taking into consideration all possible violations, if such violations are indeed identified, as well as all possible abuses, if those too are to be factored into the vote count and the tallying of results. Second, a certain pause is being observed so that any statements or actions regarding Armenia and the Armenian leadership do not come across as a hasty reaction to the elections,” the political analyst noted.

According to the expert, Russia is in no rush to respond to the Armenian election results and intends to act in a calm and measured manner.

“Russia’s response should be calm, measured, and not immediate, that is, it should not be rushed in this regard. Therefore, it seems to me that now, after all participants in the electoral campaign come to terms with the new reality, after they understand who can lay claim to what in terms of power, Russia will build its relations with the new coalition and with Pashinyan under new conditions and, where necessary, take whatever steps are appropriate,” Bezpalko said.
