Armenia’s refusal to accredit a number of Russian observers for the parliamentary elections is a source of deep regret and bewilderment, and Moscow will factor this into its relations with Yerevan. Maria Zakharova, official spokeswoman for Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated this at a regular briefing.

“The decision to deny accreditation to Russian nationals causes us deep regret and bewilderment. But beyond that, beyond the regret and bewilderment, we are not prepared to accept this logic and will be compelled to take [this] into account in our further work with Yerevan,” the diplomat noted, adding that “it is impossible to even imagine why such unfriendly actions were taken against them.”
