Samvel Karapetyan: “I will vote for the formation of a legitimate government”

Samvel Karapetyan, leader of the “Strong Armenia” party and president of the Tashir Group holding company, said he came to the elections in a fighting spirit.

“I will vote for the formation of a legitimate government,” he told journalists.

He called the attempt to suspend the bloc’s participation in the parliamentary elections “yet another manifestation of a lack of culture.”

“Right now our supporters are being arrested. Very many people were arrested today as well. More than 100 people were arrested yesterday. No big deal,” Karapetyan said.

He denied rumors that the bloc had been distributing pre-election bribes and that votes were being organized in its favor by Armenian citizens arriving from Russia.
