Speaking with Alpha News, Russian political scientist Semyon Bagdasarov commented on the actions of the Armenian authorities, the so-called border demarcation, and unilateral surrender of Armenian territories.

“This is pure betrayal! Each of these four villages is important both on the roads towards Georgia and towards Iran. These villages are also located in the rear of the fortified areas of the Armenian army, and all this has a very specific name: betrayal. The essence of this betrayal is simple: Mr. Pashinyan is clearly fulfilling the obligations that he assumed when he was recruited by the Turkish intelligence services, and there may be a very serious corruption component as well.

Do you remember there was a conversation on the Internet between Lukashenko (President of Belarus – ed.) and Sargsyan (former President of Armenia – ed.), in which, acting as a mediator, Lukashenko offered to take 5 billion dollars for 5 districts? Why did I recall this? Because I am more and more convinced now that these 5 billion have finally found their recipient. Threat of war? Tomorrow, under the threat of war, they will demand Yerevan, which must also be surrendered and the Armenian state destroyed. Pashinyan is a traitor who, for some reason, is tolerated by the Armenian people. There has never been a greater shame in the history of the Armenian people,” Bagdasarov said.

Commenting on the Armenian authorities’ foreign policy, the expert noted that in addition to deteriorating relations with Russia, Pashinyan is also spoiling relations with Iran, which could lead to a complete disaster for Armenia.

“As long as Pashinyan is in power and, in fact, is the main official of Armenia, the prime minister and commander-in-chief of the army, there will be no improvement in relations with Russia—only deterioration. However, the thing is that with his anti-Iranian rhetoric, he is simultaneously spoiling relations not only with Russia but also with Iran. He is putting forward the so-called ‘Crossroads of Peace’, thanks to which he is going to get rich and continue to pull the wool over the eyes of the Armenian people and all citizens of Armenia.

Speaking about the ‘Crossroads of Peace’ project, which is connected to the port of Chabahar in southern Iran, he continues to actively promote Western forces in Armenia, which clearly does not appeal to Iran. All this could lead to disaster for Armenia. It’s just that one day Russia and Iran will come to an agreement and simultaneously close their borders. The corresponding Armenian goods will not arrive in Russia; all goods from a number of Gulf countries will stop coming through the port of Bandar Abbas. What will Armenia do then? To think that the geopolitical enemies of Armenia, Turkey, and Azerbaijan will suddenly lend a helping hand, you have to be either an idiot, insane, or just a cynic. These states set themselves the specific task of destroying the Armenian state,” Bagdasarov concluded.
