“The flag of peace” is being carried zealously by a man who brought 5,000 casualties: Robert Kocharyan

During a campaign event in Goris, Robert Kocharyan, Armenia’s former second president and the Armenia bloc’s candidate for prime minister, stated that the ruling party has made the topic of peace the centerpiece of its propaganda.

“They have failed all the programs and promises they had previously set out, and all that is left is the topic of peace. To promote it, they are trying to present themselves as having privatized peace, while all other political forces will lead to war,” Kocharyan stressed.

According to him, the “flag of peace” is being carried zealously by a man under whose rule the Armenian people suffered heavy losses: around 5,000 killed, 12,000 wounded, significant territorial losses, and 150,000 refugees.

“And yet the current authorities are today trying to accuse a man under whom a dignified peace existed. This is truly absurd,” Armenia’s former second president noted.
