There was no talk of politics: Samvel Karapetyan on his meeting with the Supreme Patriarch

Samvel Karapetyan, the “Strong Armenia” bloc’s candidate for prime minister, spoke about his recent meeting with Garegin II, Catholicos of All Armenians.

“Although my meeting with the Supreme Patriarch took place during the election period, it had nothing to do with politics. It was a friendly visit to His Holiness,” he said.

According to Karapetyan, not a word about politics was spoken during the meeting, as both the Catholicos and he himself are being subjected to unlawful persecution.

“We discussed matters concerning national issues, unity, and the preservation of identity. We also spoke about the attacks on the Church and expressed hope that all of this will stop very soon,” Karapetyan noted.
