The scheduled meeting between the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Brussels at the end of the month will not take place due to time constraints, the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and Georgia, Toivo Klaar, said during the APRI Armenia forum.
“Our goal is for the Armenians of Karabakh to return to their homes. Considering the meeting in Granada, in which Aliyev did not participate, we are now trying to organize a meeting between Pashinyan and Aliyev in Brussels,” Klaar said.
“Despite the slow process, we believe that the result will be the signing of the deal,” he stressed.
Klaar also commented on the recent ‘3+3’ meeting in Tehran.
“We find it useful, and I don’t consider it against any format. I think discussions between neighbors are important and practical. We always welcome cooperation,” he said.
As reported earlier, a possible trilateral meeting in Brussels was announced by the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, during the summit in Granada, which the President of Azerbaijan refused to attend.
