Trump did not leave Spain’s award ceremony despite Infantino’s request

Donald Trump, President of the United States, stayed close to Spain’s national football team players during the award ceremony following the 2026 World Cup final.

According to media reports, after the trophy presentation, Gianni Infantino, President of FIFA, attempted to lead Trump away from the team before the group championship photo. However, the US leader chose to remain by the players’ side.

The United States co-hosted the 2026 World Cup together with Canada and Mexico. The tournament’s final match took place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford. In the decisive match, Spain’s national team defeated Argentina 1:0 in extra time. The only goal was scored in the 106th minute by forward Ferran Torres.
