Turkey and the United States are constantly communicating, despite some disagreements, Doctor in International Law Kevork Hagopjian told Alpha News.

“We must recall once again that Turkey and the United States have been strategic allies for many years. Naturally, there may be disagreements between them, but in a deep, strategic sense, they still remain strategic allies. Therefore, they are constantly communicating with each other,” he said.

Commenting on the events in Syria, Kevork Hagopjian noted that all activities of Syria’s transitional government are controlled by Turkey.

“As for Syria, where the Kurdish factor plays a major role, Turkey today is de facto a huge, most influential force for the current Syrian authorities, and all Turkish intelligence, the Turkish government, and state bodies control all the activities of Syria’s transitional government. The main obstacle is the Kurdish factor. Today, there have been reports that armed groups of the current Syrian government are leaving the maritime areas of Syria to join potential operations against Kurdish armed groups, but there is no clear information on this matter,” Kevork Hagopjian added.
