It seems that Turkey decides when it is appropriate to meet with Armenia, Turkologist Mher Abrahamyan told Alpha News.

“I would not call the meeting of the special representatives of Armenia and Turkey negotiations, because this seems to be the dictation of the Turkish agenda to Armenia, and the loss of Artsakh further strengthened that agenda, and Turkey is dictating its conditions to Armenia today. It seems that Turkey decides when it is appropriate to meet with Armenia or its backup representatives. Today there was a small meeting at the border, which is also evidence of the Turkish agenda, because the crossing of the border by citizens of a third country is a very dubious reality, and Turkey seems to be trying to solve a problem with this,” Abrahamyan said.

When asked who the citizens of that third country are, the Turkologist mentioned:

“Azerbaijanis are citizens of a third country, and Turkey can use this so that Azerbaijanis and their vehicles, or members of various terrorist organizations that are spread in Turkey, cross into Armenia, and in this way the goals that Turkey has related to the region will be solved. After all this, I think it is wrong to call today’s meeting a negotiation. This dictates the agenda and conditions for Armenia.”
