The renowned Italian newspaper Il Messaggero has released an article about Armenia, explaining why this country is so unusual and fascinating and why it is a must-visit destination this spring.
“Located at an altitude of 1,800 meters above sea level in the heart of the Caucasus, Armenia—whose capital, Yerevan, is connected to Rome and Milan by direct flights of approximately four hours—is a place that everyone should discover. Spring, with its mild and sunny climate (90% of the land sits above 1,000 meters), is the ideal time of year to travel… Armenia has been ranked among the 30 best destinations in the world to visit in 2025 by Lonely Planet, following new travel trends focused on discovering natural beauty and cultural values,” the article says.
The author shares impressions of visits to Khor Virap and Akhartsin monasteries and the enchanting view of Mount Ararat, calling it a “sacred mountain” that has historically been part of Armenian territory. The article also recommends seeing the world’s largest Yezidi temple in the village of Aknalich, the rock formation known as the “Symphony of Stones,” experiencing a traditional lavash baking workshop, and observing the numerous stork nests in Surenavan.
