US pressure on Iran could block path to negotiations: Aram Shahnazaryan
It is already clear to mediators that, given the current situation, talk of bringing the parties back to the negotiating table is practically pointless. This view was expressed by Aram Shahnazaryan, a figure in the Armenian Diaspora, in an interview with Alpha News, commenting on mediation efforts to resume talks between the US and Iran.
“The actions of the United States aimed at exerting total pressure on Iran and paralyzing its economy no longer leave Iran any way out that would allow Tehran to sit down at the negotiating table,” Shahnazaryan noted.
At the same time, he emphasized that Iran has been under various types of sanctions for about 47 years now and has developed a certain level of resistance to them.
“Iran has shown and proven that it can withstand these sanctions. How long this will continue, and how much longer Iran will be able to resist, only time will tell,” Shahnazaryan said.
