The United States supports the continued democratic development, sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of all countries in the South Caucasus; that is why the US is expanding its relations with Armenia, the US Department of State said in response to the inquiry of the VOA Armenian Service.

The inquiry comes as the RAND Corporation released an analysis entitled ‘The US Can’t Guarantee Armenia’s Security, Despite Azerbaijan’s Threats, but It Can Help’.

The State Department noted that the US welcomed any bona fide engagement that brings peace and stability to the countries of the South Caucasus.

The State Department added that it does not consider Russia a reliable or conscientious ally or partner in the South Caucasus or elsewhere.
