In an interview with Alpha News, Israeli political expert Alexander Tsinker commented on the rabbis’ letter condemning the Armenian authorities, as well as Israel’s continued supply of weapons to Azerbaijan and the situation in Artsakh.

“For some reason, the next meeting of European Rabbis will be held in Baku. As part of this, the Azerbaijani rabbi made an appeal to all guests that they need to help Azerbaijan and write about why Armenia acts like this. As these rabbis really wanted to get to Baku for this event, they tried to curry favor with the hosts. But only 50 rabbis out of 500 signed up for this. Israel has nothing to do with this; the Israeli rabbis are not on the list,” the expert said.

According to Tsinker, the Genocide of the Armenian people is sacred.

“The genocide of the Armenian people is sacred not only for Armenians, but for all normal people who know what happened to the Armenians during the Genocide and what happened to the Jews during the Holocaust. My relatives died during the Holocaust and this is also sacred,” the expert noted.

Answering the question whether Israel will sell weapons to Armenia if Yerevan applies, the expert replied that everything related to non-attack weapons can be negotiated.

The possibility of Iran intervening in the military conflict in order to prevent Azerbaijan from seizing Syunik, the humanitarian crisis in Artsakh and the obstacles Baku poses to the supply of humanitarian aid to Artsakh from Russia were also discussed in the interview.
