ARF “Nor Seround” Youth Organization warns on social media that a statue to the founder of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, is planned to be installed in Épinay-sur-Seine, France.
The youth organization opposes this initiative and notes in its message that Ataturk’s statue does not reflect justice, historical truth, or respect for the victims of repression and violence. The only thing it reflects is shame.

In an interview with Alpha News, ARF “Nor Seround” Central Executive chairperson Njteh Karakavorian provided details about the installation of Ataturk’s statue, scheduled for October 26 in Épinay-sur-Seine, which is very close to Paris.

“We will do everything possible to prevent the installation of Ataturk’s statue. If we fail to prevent this, we will continue the fight anyway. And if we have to play on red lines, we will do this. We will not allow this statue to be installed in this city. The nuance is that they want to install the monument in a non-public place, in a closed, private space, which significantly complicates our task, but we will do everything possible to ensure that the participation of the city hall in the opening of Ataturk’s statue is zero,” Njteh Karakavorian said.

The ARF representative also explained why the organization is against the installation of Ataturk’s statue.

“Despite the fact that Ataturk came to power after 1915 and had formal differences in the value system and the perception of Turkish statehood with the generation that organized the genocide, he was in no way different from these people in his hatred of Armenians, his dictatorial obsession, and his thirst for blood.

Ataturk not only concealed the facts of the genocide during the years when he led Turkey but also continued this policy. He destroyed our brotherly nations, the Kurds or Christians, who constituted a minority.

He always wanted to build a monoethnic state by dividing other nations into classes. Ataturk is not only an accomplice to the Genocide, but also a proud Turkish leader who continued it. We have historical problems with him, and we will not retreat on this front,” Njteh Karakavorian noted.
