Former French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal awarded Mourad Papazian, co-chair of the Armenian Organizations of France, with the title of Knight of the Legion of Honor.

The Order was established by Napoleon Bonaparte, and it has been awarded since May 19, 1802, to military and civilian persons for their invaluable services to France.

On July 14, 2023, ARF Bureau member Mourad Papazian, one of the Armenian community leaders in France, was barred from entering Armenia. While at Yerevan’s Zvartnots airport, Papazian wrote on social media that he was denied entry to Armenia on Nikol Pashinyan’s personal order.
