German MPs Axel Fischer and Eduard Lintner have been charged with taking bribes from Azerbaijan. Alpha News talked about this topic with Samvel Lulukyan, a board member of the Central Council of German Armenians.
Lulukyan noted that the MPs followed the orders of the Baku regime as part of a bribery and corruption scheme.
“The Munich Higher Regional Court has accepted the charges against them both on suspicion of bribery and corruption. In the case of Lintner, it is a long story, but there was also Karin Strenz, who was charged in the case but died suddenly on a plane in 2020. There was an accusation that Lintner had given this money to Karin Strenz. It is obvious that these MPs were following the orders of the Baku regime as part of the bribery and corruption scheme and making decisions in the European Parliament in Azerbaijan’s favor,” Lulukyan said.
He stressed that long-term lobbying activities have been carried out in Azerbaijan’s favor.
“As soon as the state of Azerbaijan was established, political giants, including former German Foreign Minister Genscher, began lobbying work in its favor from day one. And now the above-mentioned people continue this business and try to make decisions favoring Azerbaijan. All this will continue.
They will try to involve Germany in the issues of Syunik, the Zangezur corridor, to make decisions favoring Azerbaijan,” Lulukyan concluded.
