Tense situation in Kasakh village: residents attempt to block Yerevan-Ashtarak highway

Earlier today, residents of Kasakh village attempted to block the Yerevan-Ashtarak highway, but police intervened to prevent them. The protesters periodically block the highway. They demand the return of Route No. 59, which connects Kasakh to Yerevan.

As previously reported, on April 9, residents of Proshyan and Kasakh villages met with government officials to discuss transportation issues affecting their communities. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Prime Minister’s Office, the Head of the Transportation Department of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, as well as a representative from the Municipality.
