Speaking with Alpha News, Vice-Chairman of the Armenian Community Council UK Raffi Sarkissian commented on the arrest of Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan.

“Everything that is happening in our country these days changes the world’s perception of Armenia. Especially after the loss of Artsakh, the attitude towards Armenians has changed. After all this, the Armenian authorities must be much more careful in their statements and positions,” Sarkissian noted.

According to the vice-chairman, the current Armenian authorities do not have the political maturity to properly resolve the problems.

“Such an attitude towards the Church by the Armenian authorities raises concerns about national institutions. In this situation, the state must either speak with concrete facts or remain silent. They do not have the political maturity that should be demonstrated in such circumstances,” Sarkissian concluded.
