The exhibition “Armenia: Between War and Peace” dedicated to Armenian history and culture is currently on display in the town of Emonstoire, located in the Côte d’Armor region of France. Open until the end of August, the exhibition features photographs taken by Lydia Kasparian during her travels in Armenia in 2000. Her works are displayed across various neighborhoods in the town and are freely accessible to the public.
Lydia Kasparian is a French photographer of Armenian descent. Her creative style was shaped by her father, Roger Kasparian, a legendary photographer known as “the Eye of the Sixties” for his iconic portraits of artists such as Charles Aznavour, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Serge Gainsbourg. The Kasparian family’s story is closely linked to tragic events: Lydia’s grandfather, Varastad Kasparian, survived the Armenian Genocide of 1915 and arrived in France with a hundred orphans.
