A recent Alpha News poll conducted in the Armenian city of Vanadzor revealed that the majority of residents do not believe in lasting peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

“At what cost will this peace be signed? Who will pay the price, and who will benefit from it? That’s the real question. For one side, it may be peace—for the other, it is capitulation,” said one respondent.

Another respondent noted that he does not trust Azerbaijanis who organized the massacre of the Armenian people.

“There is no reason to trust. How can you trust a person who destroyed your nation, how can you shake their hand? They came, occupied our lands, took possession of them, settled in our homes—and we are still talking about peace?” a resident of Vanadzor expressed bewilderment.

Another citizen remarked that “in 2018 there was confidence in the future, but now this confidence is gone.”

“I have always loved my homeland, I got my education here, I gave my son a good education. But now, there’s nothing good to expect. I am deeply worried about the youth,” he added.
