Serviceman hospitalized with gunshot wound

Armenia’s Ministry of Defense has issued a statement in response to numerous media inquiries.

“In response to questions regarding the serviceman who was hospitalized with a gunshot wound, we inform you that he underwent emergency surgery and was subsequently transferred to the Central Clinical Military Hospital. He is currently under medical supervision, and his life is not in danger,” the ministry’s statement reads.

According to media reports, an emergency incident occurred yesterday, August 25, in the Gegharkunik region. The military police of the Ministry of Defense received operational information that a shot had been fired at the positions of one of the military units, resulting in a wounded serviceman.

Upon arrival, it was confirmed that the information was accurate, and the wounded serviceman was transported to the Muratsan Military Hospital in Yerevan. A criminal case has been opened by the investigative department in connection with the incident.
