Armenian gymnasts Artur Davtyan, Hamlet Manukyan, and Mamikon Khachatryan have qualified for the finals of the 2025 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Jakarta.
Eighteen-year-old European champion Hamlet Manukyan and European vice-champion Mamikon Khachatryan delivered impressive performances on the pommel horse, securing third and fourth place respectively. The young Armenian stars narrowly trailed behind competitors from Kazakhstan and the United States and will continue their pursuit of medals on the world stage. Notably, this marks their debut at the senior World Championships.
Another European champion, Artur Davtyan, placed second in the vault qualification and also advanced to the final. The top qualifier in this event was reigning Olympic champion Carlos Yulo of the Philippines. Davtyan and Yulo previously competed for Olympic gold in Paris, where the Armenian athlete earned silver.
Their rivalry will continue in the World Championship finals. The pommel horse final is scheduled for October 24, and the vault final for October 25.
