Name of Catholicos of All Armenians has become subject of numerous speculations amid Vagharshapat elections – Priest Yesayi Artenyan

In recent days, the name of the Catholicos of All Armenians has become the subject of numerous speculations in connection with the elections to local self-government bodies in the enlarged community of Vagharshapat, Priest Yesayi Artenyan, Head of the Information Department of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, said on Facebook.

“It is clear why certain political forces are doing this. The Church has never interfered in any electoral processes, and there is no need to artificially involve the Church in the political sphere through such manipulations, in order to justify anti-church actions,” he said.
