Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that he had appealed to Russia with a request to restore two railway sections: Yeraskh to the border with Nakhijevan and the Akhuryk section to the border with Turkey.

He noted that in the near future he also intends to ask Moscow to undertake the restoration of the Armenian part of the Ijevan–Gazakh line. According to the Prime Minister, these steps are aimed at unblocking regional communications.

Armenia’s railways are operated under a concession agreement by South Caucasus Railway CJSC, a subsidiary of Russian Railways.
