During a survey conducted in Lori, residents were asked whether they would buy gasoline imported from Azerbaijan.
For the people of Lori, the question carries primarily moral and security significance. According to them, it is impossible to establish friendly relations with an enemy country. “We had so many casualties, we lost so many young people. It is impossible to befriend Azerbaijan; the hatred toward Turks and Azerbaijanis is so deeply rooted in our blood,” said one resident.
Another participant noted: “Did they sell our blood for gasoline? I will never accept Azerbaijani gasoline or trade in general. The Turk has been, is, and will remain my enemy.”
“In the consciousness of the Armenian people, the concepts of ‘Turk’ and ‘Azerbaijani’ are perceived as a great danger,” said another respondent.
