On the sidelines of the Davos Forum, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and US President Donald Trump expressed satisfaction with the development of bilateral relations following Trump’s return to power. Azerbaijani media noted that both sides emphasized Washington’s role in reaching the August 8 agreements aimed at advancing the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Aliyev stated that peace in the region has already been established, reflected in the growth of trade ties—from petroleum product supplies to grain transit to Armenia through Azerbaijani territory. He highlighted the significance of the “Zangezur corridor” and the TRIPP project as key elements of regional connectivity.

During the meeting, the importance of the Board of Peace, created under the chairmanship of the US President, was also underscored, while reciprocal visits were described as an important factor in deepening Azerbaijani-American relations.
