Court places Vahagn Chakhalyan under house arrest

The court has changed the preventive measure for socio-political activist and leader of the Kamk opposition movement, Vahagn Chakhalyan. He has been placed under house arrest.

According to the decision, Chakhalyan is not allowed to receive guests at the address specified in court, except for close relatives, family members, and lawyers. Compliance with the conditions will be monitored through electronic means.

Chakhalyan was arrested on July 5, 2025, in connection with charges of preparing a terrorist act and attempting to usurp power in Armenia. His detention was extended for three months in August, and again for another three months in November.
