Nothing has changed, Samvel Karapetyan remains our candidate for prime minister: Lena Matevosyan

When the time comes, Samvel Karapetyan will be solely a citizen of the Republic of Armenia and will put himself forward as a candidate for prime minister. This was stated live on Alpha News by Strong Armenia party member Lena Matevosyan.

“Yesterday the party congress took place; in accordance with the requirements of the law, the candidate list was approved and the names of the first 36 candidates were published. At our congress we presented the entire process in detail and stated that Samvel Karapetyan remains the candidate for prime minister. It should be noted that nothing has changed: Samvel Karapetyan continues to be the candidate, and everything is proceeding as planned. Naturally, it was also announced at that time that when the moment comes, Mr. Karapetyan will be solely a citizen of the Republic of Armenia and will put himself forward as a candidate for prime minister. And right now, as the law requires, we have presented the list with which we are going into the election,” the party member said.

Lena Matevosyan also reported that the process of Samvel Karapetyan renouncing his other citizenships is underway.

“Renouncing citizenship is not a one-or-two-day process. We are moving forward in accordance with our strategy,” Matevosyan concluded.
