It is wrong to pursue a European course with such values: a protest participant on the Armenian authorities

For two days now, everyone in Armenia has been talking about European values, yet it is impossible not to see actions by the authorities that are completely inconsistent with those values, a participant in a protest near the residence of the Armenian president said.

“We have political prisoners, today our spiritual fathers are in prison, and in Azerbaijan our prisoners of war are being held, which implies that with such values it is wrong to pursue a European orientation,” she said.

According to the protest participant, there are clear restrictions on freedom of speech in Armenia, and people are subjected to various forms of repression on political grounds. This raises a fair question: why does Europe fail to notice all of this?
