Actress Julietta Stepanyan wins White Elephant Award
Actress Julietta Stepanyan has won the White Elephant National Film Criticism Award, honoring film experts, critics, and journalists. She received the award in the Best Supporting Actress category for her work in Raul Heydarov’s film “Sidney Lumet’s Birthday.”
The ceremony took place on the stage of the Meridian Cultural Center. The award was presented to the actress by Nina Romodanovskaya and Vyacheslav Shmyrov, members of the award’s expert council.
In an interview, Stepanyan shared her impressions of the filming, the director’s method, her special attachment to her on-screen grandson, and explained what keeps her working without days off, even at 75.
“I play all my roles with all my heart, trying to embody and empathize with the character. That’s why I’m especially pleased that my work has been recognized,” the actress remarked while accepting the award.
