Armenians from the U.S. are ready to take more drastic measures, from demanding that Adam Schiff or other congressmen take steps to resolve humanitarian crisis in Artsakh to imposing sanctions against Azerbaijan. In an interview with Alpha News said the businessman and community leader from Los Angeles Vram Martirosyan, referring to the recent protests of American Armenians.

“We are entering a new stage of the Artsakh movement. Those who think that we will develop friendship or the Artsakh situation will be solved are wrong. No, if we are entering a new stage, it means that it is the beginning. We need to move forward. Be it lobbying, protests, rallies or a meeting with Adam Schiff, we need to move forward step by step. This process may last 10 or 30 years, but we are running out of time. We need to take more drastic measures to solve the current issue if Adam Schiff or others do not want to take more specific steps”, Vram Martirosyan said.

In his words, American Armenians demand that Adam Schiff and other congressmen go to Artsakh, just as they went to Ukraine, and see the situation with their own eyes.

“We are not interested in their big political games, this is a separate question at the moment, what we are interested in is the people’s security and provision of daily needs. Since the United States was created on a humanitarian basis, they are obliged to go and insist, whether by sanctions or other means”, Martirosyan noted.

The community leader calls on other leaders of the Diaspora to join them, and urges those living in Armenia to demand that their authorities take decisive steps.

“My appeal to Armenian people is as follows: just as Armenians from the U.S. demand authorities to raise the question and stand with Artsakh, the Armenian people should oblige Pashinyan’s government not to forget about Armenians from Artsakh. 120 000 Artsakh Armenians are currently facing genocide. Demand your authorities to take more drastic steps”, Martirosyan concluded.
