Ararat-Armenia to face Riga in Champions League first qualifying round

Armenian champions Ararat-Armenia have learned their opponent for the first qualifying round of the 2026/27 Champions League. The draw paired the Armenian club with Latvia’s Riga, according to sportaran. com.
The first leg will be played in Yerevan. First-leg Champions League matches will take place on July 7-8, with second legs on July 14-15, while Conference League first legs are scheduled for July 9, with second legs on July 16.
The pool of possible opponents also included clubs from Gibraltar, Wales, Northern Ireland, and Estonia, but the Armenian champions ended up drawn against what is likely the strongest and most expensive club on that list, valued at €13.7 million compared to the Armenian club’s €6.5 million.
