The declassification of a number of documents by Tulsi Gabbard, US Director of National Intelligence, has given fresh momentum to discussions around the origins of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and the global processes surrounding it. The published materials have raised new questions about the activities of one of the most influential figures in the American healthcare system, Anthony Fauci, former Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. According to the published materials, Antoni Fauci may have been involved in funding dangerous experiments at a laboratory in the Chinese city of Wuhan. These involve so-called “Gain of Function” research, in which scientists alter or enhance certain properties of viruses in order to better understand the mechanisms of their potential development and mutation.

The topic was taken up by Alpha News commentator and journalist Artur Sahakyan. He noted that while direct funding of such dangerous research using American taxpayer money was prohibited, the process was carried out through indirect channels.

“It turns out the funding was not provided directly, but through intermediaries, the organization EcoHealth Alliance. Through it, coronavirus research under the ‘Gain of Function’ program was supported, with the aim of enhancing certain properties of the virus and conducting experiments on animals, particularly bats,” Artur Sahakyan noted.

According to him, Senator Rand Paul is now attempting through legal means to summon Fauci for questioning again, but Fauci first agreed and then refused to appear. The situation has become even more puzzling against the backdrop of an unexpected pardon granted to Fauci by former President Joe Biden.

“During Joe Biden’s presidency, in January 2024, Anthony Fauci was pardoned. Although no criminal cases had been opened or charges brought against him, the pardon was granted to prevent possible future prosecution. Moreover, it was issued using an electronic signature. There were many such pardons, including for Biden himself and his son,” Artur Sahakyan said.
