Representative of France to the UN: Take all measures at its disposal to ensure the unimpeded movement of persons, vehicles and goods
During the emergency session of the UN Security Council on the humanitarian crisis in Artsakh, the Permanent Representative of France to the United Nations Nathalie Broadhurst has called on for the immediate and unconditional restoration of the unimpeded movement of persons, vehicles and goods in both directions and the provision of gas and electricity to the population.
She has noted that Azerbaijan continues to isolate the people of Nagorno-Karabakh from the rest of the world, violating international and humanitarian principles, and has referred to the order of the International Court of Justice which requires Azerbaijan to ensure free movement along the Lachin corridor. France urges to allow international organizations to work on the ground and take into account rights of the Nagorno-Karabakh population in the negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
It should be noted that the UN Security Council Emergency Session was convened at the request of the Armenian government. Yerevan called on the UN Security Council to prevent mass atrocities, including war crimes, ethnic cleansing, crimes against humanity and genocide.
