A Turkish court hearing the case of the “Sumud” humanitarian flotilla has issued an interim ruling in the trial, placing Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli prime minister, on an international wanted list via an Interpol red notice. This was reported by the Halk TV channel, according to TASS.
According to the report, Istanbul’s 11th High Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu and other defendants in the case on charges of crimes against humanity, genocide, unlawful confinement, mistreatment, intentional infliction of bodily harm, robbery, and seizure of vessels. The court had earlier opened a criminal case against Netanyahu and 34 senior Israeli officials based on an indictment from the Istanbul prosecutor’s office, which is seeking life sentences for them.
In November 2025, the Istanbul chief prosecutor’s office issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu and the Israeli leadership on charges of genocide, mass bombardment of the Gaza Strip, and obstruction of humanitarian aid deliveries.
The “Sumud” flotilla is an international civilian humanitarian initiative bringing together activists, doctors, and volunteers from dozens of countries. Its organizers say the missions’ goal is to deliver humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip by sea and to draw international attention to the situation in the enclave and to Israel’s naval blockade.
